January Full Moon in Leo

January Full Moon in Leo

This first full moon of the year has a lot of energy.

Do you feel it?

The air gets a little more electric, the world a little more frenzied. It’s like something is coming, something is slightly off balance, but you know that everything is moving forward at the right pace in time.

THE FULL MOON ON MONDAY, JANUARY 21st IS A TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE IN LEO.

This particular full moon is also largely affected by Uranus, a planet known to bring about uncertainty, but also rebellious change and opportunity. Life may begin to seem more fast paced as the moon approaches, and unexpected events are likely to cause uncertainty about the future.

During this time, normal life may seem boring. Day to day tasks won’t satisfy your hunger for something new. It’ll be difficult to relax around this lunar eclipse.

Despite these urges, this is not a good time to make any sudden changes, especially in close relationships. New encounters may bring great thrill into life, but according to Astrology King, will cause loved ones to feel upset. People will also be inclined to have emotional outbursts. Remember to stay calm and be patient.

HOW CAN WE GROUND OURSELVES IN PREPARATION FOR THIS FULL MOON?

First off, drink tea.

Full moons are a reminder of the oneness and connectedness of all things in the universe.

There’s actually recipes specifically for full moon tea online. These teas help to balance the moon’s feminine energy, inspire self-love, and nurture. Remember to give thanks to your tea before drinking it, for nature, for the joy of being here.

Secondly, charge your crystals!

Crystals actually hold on to the energy they take from your and their environment. Cleaning your crystals during a full moon is the most effective way to give them a deep cleansing.

Before setting your crystals out to bathe in the moonlight, gently wash them in some purified water the day before the full moon. You can also chant to your crystals.

After washing and drying your crystals, they may be set out on the earth for the full moon. Any natural surface will work if you can’t place them directly on the ground. You can also let them charge for a few hours in the sunlight in the morning! Some crystals (such as Amethyst, Citrine, Fluorite, Rose Quartz, and Aquamarine) fade in direct sunlight so be sure to bring them back inside after sunrise.

Set Intentions.

Once you have all your crystals back inside, you can charge them with intentions. This helps their energy remain more in line with your energy.

You can charge all your crystals at once in healing energy, or charges individually, or even in groups.

For example, you may charge rose quartz with love to support a relationship, or citrine for creative energy for a specific project.

Labradorite is known to be a stone of magic, and is very helpful in self discovery and connecting more with one’s spirit and psychic abilities. I spend a few extra moments setting my intentions with this crystal because I feel like who I am lately is constantly transforming and I want to remain connected with myself.

At the end of charging, remember to thank the crystal and more importantly, Mother Earth for providing you with these healing tools and such love and support.

After giving thanks, burning incense or sage or cedar can bring in more positive energy to close the ritual!

Lastly, take a few minutes to relax.

Let go of any resentment or anger you’ve been feeling lately

Ask yourself, what are you holding on to that no longer serves you?

Full moons symbolize a wholeness, and also a new beginning. A chance to bring about good change, start a new routine, and further yourself.

Do you have any full moon rituals?
