Yoga Pose of the Day: Three Legged Dog

Yoga Pose of the Day: Three Legged Dog

Reposted from the Spiritual Sunflower wordpress blog, originally posted on February 10th, 2019

Good afternoon!

Today, I’d like to talk about one of my go-to poses for warming up and stretching out, three legged dog or Tri Pada Adho Mukha Svanasana.

Three legged dog has many of the same benefits as downward dog.

It helps stretch your whole body, from your arms all the way to your calfs and toes.

It builds core strength and stability.

It helps energize and rejuvenate the nervous system.

It relieves stress, back pain, headaches and poor digestion.

You can also slightly modify this pose with slight movements such as rocking back and forth and rotating your ankle, knee, and hip while your leg is elevated.

I’d love to hear about some of your favorite poses! Feel free to leave some in the comments below.

Love and Light,

Erin
