Island Clothing Swap: Hearts Full of Love, Arms Full of New Clothes!

 

Monday, March 30th from 6PM to 9PM
at Island Vibes Kava Lounge in Fort Myers, FL

I always go into clothing swaps with an open heart and open mind. This clothing swap blew me away, even more than the previous successful swaps with the Island Vibes community. It was a rainy Monday evening, but everybody still popped out -- and brought so many good quality donations. EVERYONE who participated went home with a handful of items they're excited to wear, and we set aside about fifty items to donate to local non-profits and thrift stores. At least fifty items found new homes at the swap!

The energy was pure excitement, gratitude, and teamwork from start to finish. While I might be the "host" of these clothing swaps, I am only a small portion of where the clothes come from to keep them going. This recent Island Vibes swap, at least five other people showed up with multiple bags of beautiful, quality items, all worked together on organizing things, and formed new friendships as we got excited over each other's clothes.

This is why we swap!

 

 

Some of my swap highlights are:

• a new purse
• seeing one of my best friends try on new clothes & look so beautiful
• making a new friend, who brought super well received donations and is such a lovely human, so we all hope they come back to the next one!
• finding homes for some of my mom's clothes that she donated
• getting to talk about secondhand fashion, and why clothing swaps are SO important

What’s Next

 

We host a clothing swap every fourth Monday of the month at Island Vibes Kava Lounge in Fort Myers, FL. They are always from 6PM to 9PM, and the lounge also has a fun community game night going on while we swap. All are welcome to join!
