Intention to Action

Intention to Action

It’s time to live what you’ve been learning. Here's how to turn your intentions into actions, and make your spiritual insights a part of your daily life.

Magic happens when actions and intentions truly align. I think we have all witnessed it a time or two in our lives. When your heart, mind, and soul are all set on one mission, and you take actions towards this purpose that attract an overwhelming amount of abundance and support, so things turn out better than you ever dreamed of.

This experience of magical alignment, love, and abundance is something that we all seek in our lives. There is no magical recipe to experience it each and every day, but there are a few key ingredients that I have found to be beneficial over the years in making magic more of a daily occurrence.

We all know that big dreams come true, by taking little steps each and every day. In this blog post, we will explore and recognize the little actions that you can take daily to support your intentions and insights.

Take a moment to consider your current goals right now and to reflect on the shifts that have been emerging in your life. We are all going through periods of growth, chaos, and revelation. Change is inevitable, so let’s make it easier on ourselves. Use this time to journal about what you are going through, how you would like things to change, and what your intentions are moving forward to support these insights.

Think about what you would like your life to look and feel like in the next three to six months. There is no better time than now to start taking actions that support this vision!

A good place to start is always with gratitude. You cannot receive more magic, abundance, opportunity, money, or success, than you can be responsible for and truly appreciate. So the first step is to practice gratitude for what you currently have, and then you can begin to expand your capacity to be grateful for so much more.

Get grounded in your gratitude and your intentions for what is coming next for you. This is the perfect opportunity to really seek the best for yourself in this time of change and evolution.

I recommend opening to a fresh set of pages in your journal - one side for your reasons to be grateful today, and one side for your goals and intentions. On the goals/intentions page, split it into three sections. Write a few daily intentions, a few intentions for the next three months, and a few intentions for the next six months.

An intention can be anything like the desire to feel safe or confident, be more mindful of your time, only purchase clothes that are secondhand, eat three meals a day, spend more time with friends and family, etc.. anything that you want to focus on and embody right now and in the coming months.

What makes this practice different from regular goal and intention setting is that you will be writing everything in present tense, like it is happening and is true in this very moment. I encourage you to fully express this practice for the gratitude aspect as well.

The best way to exercise journaling in the present tense is with complete sentences, rather than just making lists. Use descriptive, empowering words, and write it all as if it’s happening right now. Really pour your love and your presence into this exercise and believe every word that you write, so you can feel how grateful you are and how passionate you are about these intentions coming true.

The goal is to feel as connected and clear as possible so that when you do take action, it is coming directly from this source of energy. The more energy you pour into setting your intentions, the more aligned your actions will be which come from it.

Once you have completed your gratitude and intention journaling, read over everything again (out loud or in your mind). Pause to feel the emotion behind your words, visualize this reality you have started to build for yourself, and be grounded in your gratitude for everything you currently have. This is still only the beginning.

The next important ingredient to creating aligned, magical experiences in your life, is actually going out into the world and seeking situations that allow you to exercise the intentions you have set forth for yourself. When you come into moments of heightened emotion clouded with disappointment, instability, anxiety, or jealousy, be mindful of how you respond and act. These are often the best opportunities to implement your intentions of growth and expansion.

Consider the life that you envisioned for yourself in your intention setting journaling session. It might feel a world different from the life you are experiencing right now, and that is okay. Things can change a lot faster than you think, even though it starts slow and subtle at first. Remember, you are not seeking instant gratitude here. Creating space for magical, life altering experiences, means making daily choices (and even sacrifices) that support this goal. You cannot live a magical life by doing mundane things.

Whatever you do, put all of your love, your heart, and your soul into it. If there is something you are on the fence about, really be considerate of the pros and cons. It’s totally okay to make a written list if you need to fully spell it out for yourself. Ultimately, if it’s not a “f*ck yes” then it’s a “fuck no” – simple as that!

Intentions and actions align when you listen both to your heart and your intuition. That is why building a healthy journaling practice to have open communication between your heart, your mind, and your body, is so beneficial. Journals are a safe space for the mind and body to connect with one another, and convene with the heart on what truly matters most. Nothing that is truly meant for you will ever pass you by.

By aligning your intentions with your actions, you open up the space for everything in your life to be in flow rather than in resistance. In order to do this, get as clear as possible on what your intentions actually are, so you can act accordingly.

One of the greatest weaknesses as humans is getting stuck in a subconscious autopilot, and this can happen even when you are living a life that we love. When you are on autopilot, everything feels muted and dull, even if it’s actually exciting and stimulating. Each and every one of us struggles with this time and time again, and we must be led back home to ourselves and the conscious mind which is in a state of love, awareness, and gratitude.

In this conscious state of loving awareness, you are empowered to set boundaries, take action on your intentions, and look out for your growth. It’s okay to put yourself first. Actually, please do put yourself first. When you put yourself first, you attract the people who are most aligned with the person you are becoming, and are more energized to show up for the people that you love however you deem fit.

Transforming intentions to actions is actually a way of showing yourself love, and demonstrating how reliable and dependable you are, to yourself.

The relationship you have with yourself is always the most important relationship you will have in this lifetime.

With love and light always,

The Spiritual Sunflower
