Crystal Magic for Plant Lovers

Add a little extra magic and love to your plant care routines and rituals with crystals and moon water.
Written by Erin Daugherty
I almost feel like loving crystals and loving plants go hand in hand these days. There are so many ways to combine these two passions, in order to make your rituals a little more fun, effective, and intentional.
Plants are energetic beings, and have an energy field, just like humans do. So, it makes sense that they also benefit from the healing powers of crystals!
In this blog post, I will provide a few examples of different ways that you could add a little crystal magic to your plant care routines. These are also personal recommendations, based on experiences in my own life.
One important thing to remember for anything regarding crystals and plants, is ensuring that your crystals are able to get wet without losing their color or mineral deposits. Some crystals, such as tourmalines, opals, kyanite, and pyrite, should not be placed in moist or wet environments long term. If you are ever unsure, a quick Google search can always give you some advice as to whether your crystal is safe for water, or not.
Let’s start with a super simple one!

Putting Crystals In & Around Your Plants
You can place crystals either in the soil, or next to your plants to send some special healing energy their way. Make sure to remove any crystals and cleanse them occasionally to prevent soil buildup, if they are inside the soil.
These are some of my favorite crystals to put in and around my plants:
☾Red Jasper, to promote root growth, and soil health. It has grounding properties.
☾Moss Agate or Tree Agate, to encourage growth and support plant health. Both of these stones are associated with new beginnings and connection to nature.
☾Rose Quartz, if you want to tell your plant how much they are loved. This stone is associated with all forms of love; romantic, friendship, and self love. Plants are our friends!
☾Tiger’s Eye, to motivate your plant to keep growing! This stone is associated with motivation and discipline to take action towards goals.
☾Labradorite, if you want to support your plant through times of change and evolution. Labradorite reminds us that there is light in darkness, and seeing things from a different perspective can be beautiful. It also adds a beautiful flash to your soil in the sun!
☾Amethyst, to send divine healing energy to your plant, and provide energetic protection. Some people believe that plants are a sort of angel on our planet. They are pure energetic beings that look out for one another and are sensitive to their environment.
☾Apatite, to support your plant in using their energy wisely and send divine healing energy. Apatite is a stone of inner wisdom and physical and emotional balance. It is actually used to help humans stabilize their appetite, and can do the same for your plants.
All of these stones are able to get wet, so they are perfect to go inside of your plant’s soil (if you wish).
You may also choose to decorate your plants’ soil with painted seashells or rocks, cool stones, little garden statues – whatever brings you joy. Adorning your plants with special and beautiful decorations not only makes your plant care more enjoyable, but it shows your plant family how much you value and appreciate them.
Did you know that plants can detect feelings and emotions through their energetic fields, which responds to yours? Scientific studies have shown that plants release their own kind of “happy hormone” when they feel their caretaker nearby.
Don’t underestimate the power of your love. Your plants will reflect it back to you!

Watering with Moon Water
Another beautiful way to combine ritual and crystals with plant care is through watering plants with water charged under the energy of the full moon.
Moon water is very easy and simple to make, but you must wait until a full moon to make it.
Choose a vessel, such as a watering can, or glass bottle, to store your special moon water in. You might also choose to add healing crystals, like any of the ones mentioned above, to infuse your water with their healing energy.
Make sure your vessel is clean, put in any crystals first, and then fill it with water. As you are filling your vessel, envision the cleansing and life giving properties of water in your mind. Once full, pause for a moment to further infuse this water with your loving intentions.
Find a safe place to set your water outside overnight for the full moon, while making sure it will be in direct view of the moon at some point in time. Retrieve your water the following morning, and you are good to go!
Whenever you are watering your plants with your special moon water, remember to thank the moon, the water, the crystals, and mother nature as a whole for all of her support and healing energy. Pause for a moment to admire your plants, and notice any new growth while you feed them their water.

Tell your plants they are doing a good job, and give yourself a little pat on the back for being a good plant parent!
It is so easy and fun to add a little crystal magic to your plant care routines.
