Understanding how to communicate with the universe through sacred numbers.

If you are here, I am going to make an educated guess that you seek to find deeper meanings and connections in the mundane - or this is at least something you are seeking to do. 

Life can be boring, monotonous, and mean very little. Or, life can be adventurous, joyful, and deeply fulfilling. 

Every human being has a purpose here and a connection to a higher power. It is up to you whether you want to be open to that energy or not. 

Communicating with the divine, your higher self, the universe, God, or whatever other term might feel best to you - takes practice and intention. Just like speaking, writing, reading, and body language, it is a form of communication that we must practice and refine. 

One of the many ways that humans open themselves up to connections beyond the physical realm is through being aware of physical signs or synchronizations. These are moments that might appear normal, but they have a deeper meaning and significance to YOU - the being experiencing them. 

What are signs? 

Signs are believed to be connected to a wide range of entities or energetic beings from other dimensions. Most often they are associated with personal loved ones and the individual’s higher self. They can also be associated with deities, mythical beings, Gods, and Goddesses. 

One of the incredible things about signs is they can be presented to us in many different ways. It could be in animals, media, synchronizing experiences, spoken words from family or strangers, dreams, visions, and literal signs and posters around the community. 

Everyone’s relationship with each possible sign or synchronicity is completely unique. For some signs, such as animals, words, and numbers, there might be more common connections of the symbolism and meaning between various people. 

Signs hold not only personal connections and cultural meanings. They are deeply significant because of the moments that they show up in. Most of all, it is often after someone asks a truth to be revealed or in times of turmoil when someone desperately needs comfort or direction that a sign is revealed. They come forth when they are actively sought after to be noticed. Building a relationship with your angels and team of light through signs is an intentional process. 

Possibly one of the most well known signs are called “angel numbers.” They can pop up nearly anywhere all around us, like all signs, but sometimes even more so because of how many numbers are used everywhere. 

What are angel numbers? 

Angel numbers have an element of pattern and repetition to them, that makes them unique to encounter. Traditionally this includes every number that is the same in a sequence of 3, in chronological order, or creating a symmetrical pattern. They often include 3 to 6 numbers, but those might be found in a larger group of numbers, like a zip code or gift card number sequence.

Angel numbers generally share a broad meaning or significance for all of human kind, and inevitably we develop our own relationships over time as they continue to appear. 

To receive signs in the form of angel numbers, practice being aware of the small details around you. Notice the phone number on a business card, the building number you are driving to, license plates, serial numbers, transaction totals, even online orders and ticket purchases. 

The thrill of finding numerical patterns of significance is a little glimmer in the day, especially when it’s a tough day. Angel numbers are, at the very least, a reminder that you are not alone. Depending on what guidance or support you are seeking, they can be much more. 

Connecting with angel numbers

Take a moment now to reflect on areas or situations in your life that you would appreciate some backup in. Maybe it’s a sign that you are doing the right thing. Or maybe it’s a sign as to which decision to make next. 

Hold that in your mind’s eye (or write it down in a journal), and begin reflecting on numbers that you see often in the world around you, or that hold special significance to you.

Maybe there is a time you see every single day, or a birthday, or anniversary date that you keep close in your heart. Maybe the total for your favorite meal or groceries is one of your angel numbers. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a perfect pattern - however, those are the numbers that often resonate the strongest. 

The intention of this exercise is just to encourage you in noticing the numerical patterns in your life, so you are open to receiving the comfort and guidance when they arise again. 

Angel numbers & their meanings

I have been intentionally watching the angel numbers that appear around me, and when, over the past five years, as well as read a number of books discussing their meanings. These are my personal interpretations of the symbolism of angel numbers, and when they might appear for you in your life.

111

Symbolizes new beginnings, a fresh start, and cleared energy. This number might also appear after achieving a goal, as a sign of congratulations and to be excited for what is coming next. 111 reminds you to continue following your dreams and listening to your gut.

222

Associated with love, alignment, and duality. If you are in need of a reminder to stay positive and follow your heart, 222 might appear for you. This number appears at times when encouragement is needed to trust that everything will work out exactly as it’s supposed to. 

333

Often associated with energetic support, symbolizing that you are exactly where you need to be, and with who you need to be with. 333 also symbolizes giving appropriate care to one’s body, mind, and spirit. It reminds you that you are not alone, and you are supported by your energetic angels. 

444

Symbolizes completeness, stability, and balanced energy. It is associated with the four elements of nature, the four cardinal directions, and the four seasons. This number often appears during times when grounding or being more present is needed. 444 serves as a reminder that you are protected and you are guided through whatever you are working towards.

555

Associated with love, spiritual awakening, and connection with spirit, you might start to see 555 more when your third eye is opening, or you are becoming aware of new truths. This number is also associated with change that creates necessary space for growth. When this number appears, it often means big shifts are on the horizon… but it will all be in your favor.

666

This number symbolizes self acceptance, and spirituality. It might appear at times when you need to be reminded to love yourself for who you are, and appreciate all of the abundance and blessings that are currently present in your life. It also might serve as a reminder that you are a spiritual being, having a human experience; so make sure to take care of your spirit.

777

Often associated with luck, clarity, knowledge, and truth, 777 might appear to you when you are looking for confirmation that you are thinking the right things, or are on the right path. It is also a symbol of raised spiritual vibrations and positive energy. This number is encouragement to keep doing what you are doing!

888

Symbolizes the delicate energetic balances of existence, the path of life, and the infinite natural cycles of life and death. 888 often appears as a sign of optimism, confirming that you are in harmony with the universe and that more abundance is coming your way. 

999

This number often appears to provide encouragement towards completing a project or closing a particular chapter of your life. If you’ve been considering making changes to your environment, or even just desiring to finish a piece of art, 999 is the sign to do just that. It symbolizes releasing what no longer serves you, and preparing for the next part on your journey.

More angel numbers 

Some other angel numbers you might see could be 1010, 1234, 4567, 2424, 4488, or any numerical pattern such as these. These particular angel numbers do not have singular meanings, however, they share the combined energy of the numbers within them, so they do still hold significance. 

The key to building a relationship with the more “un-traditional” angel numbers is truly pausing to reflect on when they show up for you in your life. 

How are you feeling at the moment they appear? Where are you? What are you thinking about? What have you been asking for support, direction, confirmation, or encouragement in?

I recommend keeping a detailed log in your phone or in a small notebook, where you can record the numbers appearing for you and where they show at. This makes it much easier to identify and remember patterns, and build a reliable language of communication with the universe. 

What are you to do with angel numbers?

Angel numbers can be used in spells and rituals, or simply as a way to build a more meaningful connection with small moments in your life. 

Whatever you choose to do with angel numbers, it should feel good and supportive to you. There are manifesting methods, such as the 555 method, which utilizes angel numbers in their practices. You may choose to implement angel numbers into your journaling routine, by writing three affirmations, three things you are grateful for, and three things you want to accomplish every day. 

The possibilities to weave numerical magic into our daily lives is endless, and that’s one of the things that makes angel numbers such an easy and accessible way to build a deeper connection with the energy around us. At the very least, it makes mundane moments feel like magic is real. 

Now that you are looking for them, be prepared for angel numbers to start appearing in any number of places!
